Wilhelm Steinitz - Francis Burden [C58]

London 1862

The following game (which we copy from the Field) should, we think, prove interesting to our readers. Herr Steinitz is a new player to us in England, and promises to become a great one; while many in Belfast will recognise an old friend and club associate in Mr. Burden. The game was played a few days since at Mr. Rie's Chess Divan in the Strand. (Weekly Northern Whig 19 July 1862)
